“For me, life is empty without art”,
says RJ Biesiada, a San Diego resident since the age of nine-years-old.
Because of her father’s passion for body surfing and swimming,
most of RJ’s formative years were spent around water. In her paintings she
captures “Nature’s emotions” displayed
along San Diego coastlines near La Jolla, Del Mar and Torrey State
Beaches. While living on Maui RJ had ample opportunity to visit all of the Hawaiian
Islands in search of the perfect ocean-breathing wave and sky-touching landscape.
“It's the multi-dimensional perspective of the relative
realities of nature that I want to place on the paper. I paint what I love and hope that
everyone viewing my work feels that first glimmer of sunset stroking
the ocean and senses the early morning mist rising from the lake. ”
San Diego Art Walk was a huge success! Besides the many new
friends that were made, 75% of her inventory was sold. RJ's work can be viewed at the Phantom
Gallery in Oceanside, CA throughout the summer.
Most recently RJ has been painting under
the tutelage of Professor Arthur Nelander of O’ahu, HI. Her
education includes several art classes at Cuyamaca College, workshops
from many nationally renowned artists and much self study. Self
study is apparently RJ’s favorite form of education.
“I enjoy the challenge of violating
the so-called limits of watercolor by implementing discoveries from a wide
range of creative people using various aesthetic philosophies.”
RJ’s paintings can already be found
in several private collections across the United States. |
